hi, i’m natalie
Natalie Price is a 2024 graduate of the University or Oregon Architecture department. Although she pursued a degree in architecture, she’s always held tightly to her background in the arts, growing up a crafty kid in Portland Oregon and taking delight in being a jack of all trades. During her time at U of O she found herself gravitating towards projects dealing in public space, community engagement, and landscape design.
She began a partnership with the non-profit Friends of Greenloop in 2021 developing site designs for their newly acquired food cart pod location, the Cart Blocks, which provided a new home for downtown Portland’s previously displaced food carts. That experience eventually led to her senior terminal studio project, proposing a design for Darcelle XV Plaza in downtown Portland, which addressed spatial justice for food carts and the privatization of public space.
Natalie is drawn towards projects that have a strong narrative and a human touch. Through her work she seeks to create moments of joy, curiosity and creativity for the user. She believes that art and design are powerful tools for encouraging play and connection between children and adults alike. She values any project that allows her to wear many hats and expands her experience.
